Intel Switch Up - 1

Intel Canada brought a unique challenge to our table: how can we create a 2 player game experience that illustrates our hardware and gives the user hands on experience with the benefits of an Intel processor.

The Solution

Our Answer? Intel Switch-Up!Switch-Up! is a head-to-head game where players face a simple challenge:

Click a bubble, and it splits into two smaller bubbles. The game is a Race to the finish. The first user to get the qualified amount of bubbles wins the round. The users then switch computers, and race again.

What We Did

By experiencing both computers they get a hands on way of relating to graphic performance, and CPU load. After experiencing each computer, the overall winner would be given an instant win prize which was drawn digitally from a prizing pool.

The Conclusion:

Intel - Switch Up presented us with a unique challenge from a development perspective.

We needed to create a game that would heavily tax the users system with resource use, while keeping the interface synced across two users experience, and maintaining a useable interface outside of gameplay on the over-taxed machine. On top of this, the whole experience was vehicle based, and toured festivals where there was a lack of internet connection.

Our solution was to create a local socket server on a third machine, which managed the experience outside of gameplay, and kept the game scores and ball locations synced across client machines.

The experience gave uses a measurable, hands on view of what exactly processor performance meant for their day to day use.

Around here, that's what we call a
